The Foundation Centro Studi sul Federalismo (FCSF), established in 2000, recognized by the Prefecture/UTG, is today a Foundation, with the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and the Universities of Turin, Pavia and Milan as founders and the Polytechnic of Turin as co-founder.

The CSF Foundation operates as a think-tank with a policy-oriented vocation, promoting interdisciplinary research, information and documentation activities on the topics of international relations, geopolitics and European integration, in synergy with universities, research centers, public institutions and private entities, at a national and international level.

The CSF Foundation has its headquarters in Turin, Piazza Arbarello 8 (at the Fondazione Collegio Carlo Alberto) and its operating office in Rome, Via dei Montecatini 17 (at the Istituto Affari Internazionali - IAI); has established collaboration with institutions such as the IAI, the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), and The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), as well as Robert Triffin International (RTI), which is based at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve and whose work focuses on the reform of the international monetary system.

The CSF Foundation's library, specialized in studies relating to European integration, maintains approximately 14,000 volumes and a rich newspaper library, which constitutes the Gianni Merlini European Section of the Norberto Bobbio Library.
